moon
Hello what is the best way to use 2 or more keyboards with Logic on a laptop? In other words I want to use 2 keyboards that play different plugins that are on the laptop. For instance: using Synthogy Ivories on 1 keyboard and using LASS or Symphobia on another keyboard. Are there specific connections needed? Thanks in advance B L

moon
Eric thank you very much for the info. I already know about usng different midi channels. but I probably should have said this is for live use and I am not using an audio or midi interface just the built in Audio and Midi from the Mac book Pro. The reason is I have had too many failures of audio interfaces (I was using a Motu Ultralite) and did not want to bring extra gear. Anyway I was hoping there would be alternative audio connections that I didn't think of and someone else might know. thanks B L

You're going to need a MIDI interface for your keyboards to be able send their MIDI data to the computer and Logic. J.
David Nahmani
Anyway I was hoping there would be alternative audio connections that I didn't think of and someone else might know. I'm wondering what alternative audio connections you mean? The audio from your software instrument plug-ins is coming out of Logic's stereo output, and goes out your Mac through the audio out, it should be as simple as that. The article Eric linked to should be all you need, whether for the studio or for live. If you were hoping to have two separate stereo audio outputs, one for each instrument, then you'd need to purchase an audio interface with at least 4 separate mono outputs. As for the MIDI connections, if your keyboards have a USB connector you can connect them straight to your Mac, if they only have a MIDI connector then as Jordito said, you'll need a MIDI interface.
