Separate a track

Whwn I separate a midi drumtrack by notes, several tracks are created. These tracks are "sub" tracks from the original track. Can I separate to new(unique) tracks?

When you use the command to separate by pitch, it always puts the separated notes/regions to tracks assigned to the same channel strip and instrument. If you want these to be on tracks that point to unique channel strips/instruments, then you need to move the regions manually and delete any tracks you don't need.

 

If you do t this way though, you'll be having multiple instances of the same instrument, and depending on the instrument this may not be a good idea (if the instrument is CPU-intensive and/or relies on a large sample library). If that's the case, find out if the instrument is available as a multi-output plug-in, then you'll be able to have separate audio outputs for each of the instrument's sounds.
