codysings
Hello, When I hit r to record the take jumps back before the 1st bar and the upper region (cycle region) turns red. What going on. It wasn't doing it, and then it was. Maybe I hit something? Thank you in advance for your help.

David Nahmani
wow that's gigantic...sorry, how do I make this smaller? Not sure how you did that screenshot? I usually press Command-Shift-4 and drag around the desired area, and haven't had that "gigantic picture" issue... It's normal for the bar ruler to be shaded in red when recording. I highly recommend you never move your project start marker any other place than its default 1 1 1 1 location. That yields all sorts of unexpected behaviors in Logic. zakkleifeste
Hello, When I hit r to record the take jumps back before the 1st bar You probably have a count-in turned on. You can go to Project Settings>Recording and turn it off if you don't want one.

That yields all sorts of unexpected behaviors in Logic. Would one of those unexpected behaviors be that the Bar and Time are not lined up properly? I have a file that is showing 1111 at 0:40 and another that is showing 1111 at 6:25. Can't find answers to this problem anywhere. Thanks. No, that's simply a synchronization setting: go to Settings > Synchronization and you can decide which exact time falls at 1 1 1 1.

Out of curiosity, how do you set that up? Or how have others set it up that you are aware of? Thanks.

sculley
Here are the default settings: I was actually wonder if you did something other than the default. I've since set it up so that 0:00 is at 5111 and the count in is two bars. Thanks again.
David Nahmani
I was actually wonder if you did something other than the default. Most of the time if I'm producing music (not to picture) then I'm happy with using the default settings. What do you use the time ruler or time display for anyway? sculley
I'm recording myself and I like to know where I am at in a song at any given time while doing so. I know I can do this with Marker sections but I've not really set that up yet for what I'm doing.
David Nahmani
So yes that's fine set your sync settings to whatever you desire: if your song starts on bar 5 then your settings make sense. Most of my songs start on bar 1 so the default settings are just fine for me. It's really a personal thing, so don't hesitate to set it to whatever works for you, there's no right or wrong here.
