Recommended Posts

i like it because it lets me monitor different channels spectrums on one screen but i noticed how different it represents signal from what i used to see... Voxengo shows hi end as if i added hi shelf, look at the picture... i thought maybe i need to set the plugin correctly, i dont know

Try BlueCat Audio FreqAnalyst2 if you want a good FREE meter. Very accurate and you can change peak times, rms times and DB times. I haven't used his EQ aside from the free one's but his compressors sound really musical, specifically Voxformer and the Deft Compressor.Great on drums and rap vocals. And if that is on your master bus bring up logic's eq hit analyze and see how they compare. . . shouldn't be any different. A meter just reads from what I know unless somehow maybe you switched the phase is all I could think of?? Try going into the settings menu in Voxengo and check your Peak Level hold times and release times and all that.

The following applies to the EQ plug-in as well:

Note that by default SPAN uses 4.5 dB per octave slope for the spectrum display which makes it look considerably “elevated” towards the higher frequencies in comparison to most other spectrum analyzers available on the market. This setting can be changed in the “Spectrum Mode Editor” window.

Set the slope to 0.
