junebug Posted February 7, 2013 Share Posted February 7, 2013 In an attempt to understand gain staging, I've inserted some audio loops and some instrument loops into a project. When I play them back, the clip lights come on with two of the individual tracks, even though the faders on the tracks are way down, like -29.5 and -35.0 The output track level indicator is fine peaking at -12 with the fader at 0. It's my understanding that red lights are to be avoided. Should I be concerned with the peak indications of the individual tracks. Any clarification is appreciated.
