Logic refuses to play some MIDI notes in a duplicated region

Hi all, I'm having a problem in Logic that is a huge creative block right now... I have an orchestral progression in Kontakt that has been fine so far in this song, except for this part I'm using later in the song. I took a region out of the beginning, split it in half, and duplicated the first region once. The first region plays as expected but the second region refuses to play back the lowest note. I have tried shuffling the notes around, shortening both regions, looping the first region instead of duplicating it, making an alias, etc... I really don't think I'm doing anything wrong and I don't think this is supposed to happen. Obviously I could bounce it to a new track, but that would eliminate the natural reverb, and it's not a solution to the problem which I'm pretty sure is fixable. Any ideas? This is really preventing me from progressing with the song.

Every now and then I find myself with a MIDI region where one or more specific notes refuse to play. In 100% of cases it has turned out that I accidentally hit the M key with that particular note selected in the Piano Roll and hence unknowingly muted it. I only mention this in case the original poster is like I once was and doesn't know that individual MIDI notes can be muted in this way. (That M key is a little too close to some popular keys …)
