Few ms delay when bouncing soft instruments

Recommended Posts

Recently Logic has started putting a few ms delay (not consistent) at the start of audio files that have been bounced from software instruments. It doesn't seem to make a difference between logic instruments or 3rd party, still the same problem. The problem is worse when bouncing my external synths.

I have to cut the audio at the start of the first waveform and move it manually in time.

I have tried changing buffer rates but still not change. I have also tried changing the "sample accurate automation" setting.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies.

I thought this had cured itself but unfortunately its back.

I've tried using the built in audio to see if its a driver issue but still the same delay.

I only have a logic stock multimeter and logic gain plug in on the main out, both of which are greyed out.

Any other suggestions???

I have just tried something which helped the problem but didn't completely solve it...

I often group sounds by routing their outputs through a bus (for example i make the output of some instruments bus 20)

I just tried changing the output of the soft instrument back to stereo output and bounced it. The delay is much less, but still not on the grid like i would expect.

Any ideas?

Hi Eric,

the only plug-in i have on the Aux that the soft instruments are grouped to is a Logic compressor.

As for other Aux's, I have various plug ins, Logic and 3rd party (delays, reverbs, compressors, etc.) I'm not sure which would be latency inducing?

Sorry for the confusion. I read your original post more thoroughly and I believe that the latency seems to be related to external instruments only. Is that correct?

No, It is happening on all software instruments, as well as external analogue synths.
