dpickell
I have never had this before: a track was playing back sounding odd, then I discovered that the plugin (originally an EQ) had changed to a Reverb, with a 0 decay setting. That's just plain weird. Have you heard of this happening, or experienced it? ouch. The track I am working on has probably more pligs and automation than any I have done previous;y, prompting me to wonder, is there a state where the density of automation and plugs starts to create anomalies? Eric Cardenas
? Never encountered this. You've probably changed a channel strip setting without realizing that it changes the plug-ins.
David Nahmani
is there a state where the density of automation and plugs starts to create anomalies? No, you would just get a CPU Overload alert and playback would stop. I've never heard of a plug-in changing by itself either, so my guess is Eric is probably right on this one. For example it's easy to press a "random" key on your keyboard without realizing that it's actually assigned as a key command...
Eriksimon
I've had a strange occurrance once or twice where the plugin slots started to act all weird, you could no longer open any plugin GUI, and if you clickdragged any plugin slot, it would scroll though all plugins (like the rolls on a slot machine). The only way to clear up the issue was to restart Logic.
dpickell
Got it, thanks as always. Logic does have a personality!
Atlas007
Logic has the ability to automatically load a channelstrip Setting (called a performance), maybe that was the source of the glitch?
dpickell
Good thought. The strip, though, was identical except the eq was gone and a space designer ( with a very weird setting, like "zero decay time") was in its place. I think it's Otto Lenglings curse! Atlas007
Another guess: how about an undo step back?
David Nahmani
Another guess: how about an undo step back? Great idea. In fact next time that happens, just click the main "Edit" menu to see what the last recorded action was in Logic's history, that could give you some information as to what just happened:
dpickell
Great ideas. In fact, I can probably still find a record of the event. Dave
David Nahmani
Logic records, by default, the last 30 actions. You can see them listed under Edit > Undo History.
teedoff087
On my setup (not sure if it's the default), Option-Z brings up the undo history. I use this from time to time if I accidentally pressed some random keys.
