ArmlessAndOveractive
First off, I know this has been covered on the forum before however all previous topics have not allowed me to create a solution for my tormenting issue. Alright. Help is appreciated since I am new to the realm of Logic and Analogue Synths. Basically I would like to sequence my Doepfer Dark Energy with Logic 9 via USB 2.0 and have the audio come out of my mixer.. After watching several videos and reading up on forums I figured this would be simple... but still I have no results. Path Directory: Mac (Logic)- USB 2.0 Connected - Doepfer Midi In (USB) - Doepfer Audio out - Behringer Eurorack UB802 Line 1 1/4"cable - Main audio out thru headphone jack. Now the Logic project I have created appears to be correct since I notice that the Doepfer midi LED is triggered when a noted is played however I do not hear any audio coming out of the unit. Even though it I have gotten that far if someone could please walk me thru the process from A-Z that would be much appreciated. Thanks In Advance,

Can you detail what you have set up in that Logic project? Do you have an external MIDI track? What destination? A test you can do would be to temporarily plug headphones straight into the Doepfer audio out and see if you can hear anything when playing notes? ArmlessAndOveractive
Of course I can Dave. I have tried this set up: http://www.logic-cafe.com/Article_View.asp?ID=172 & (viewtopic.php?t=69167) Post by jordito Moderator "When you create a external MIDI track, make sure the Open Library option in the New Tracks dialog is checked. This will open the library to display the available ports (ports in a MIDI interface, for example) through which MIDI data will go out of Logic .Choose a port (and channel) from the Library pane and it will be assigned to the track (you can verify this in the inspector). If you create a region and pencil in some notes, you'll see that the MIDI Activity display in Logic's transport will show those notes in the lower part (the MIDI output) of the display. If nothing's going out out Logic, it will read "No Out"." As mentioned in my prior post, I notice that when I play a note in Piano Roll the LED on the back of the Doepfer lights up. Ie there is some sort of signal path. I did notice that upon coping the instrument from environment that when I have a Grand Piano icon... I assume this is default but I figured I would mention it. As for testing for audio - the dopefer requires an amp to project sound so that's what the Behringer is for. When I plug in headphones to the mixer I hear nothing Also at the bottom of the software I see the note trigger (C1 for example) and beside "No out" Hope this helps. ArmlessAndOveractive
Also I am not sure what you mean by destination? Are you referring to Midi Channel port?
David Nahmani
Also I am not sure what you mean by destination? Are you referring to Midi Channel port? Yes, that's what I meant. It sounds like you have all of that right. Even though the synth needs an amp, you should hear something if you plug the headphones into its audio output? Might be faint and sound bad, but... can you hear anything at all? Or nothing at all?
ArmlessAndOveractive
Alright Dave you choice of words me troubleshoot things in a different manner and the signal is now going through. The synth produces "noise" if you will. Does not actually sound as it is supposed to. There is also a "drift" in the octave. It swaps ever few bars. Does this in any way should familiar?
