NoPro
I really should know this by now but can someone clarify riding a fader eg: vocals instead of drawing automation. I've found myself confused between write, touch etc. lets say I just start riding vocals...what should be checked write, touch etc. thank you. I want to ride the fader in real time. Then if I make a mistake do it again...
David Nahmani
Never use write. Use Latch for your first pass... that way when you let go of the fader it stays where it is. Use Touch for the successive passes... that way you can adjust certain areas and when you let of the fader it goes back to reading the existing automation on the track. NoPro
Thank you very much !!! This really helps. I still never felt natural drawing automation but have done so for years...now I will try this method as you described.
steveH
Also, you can set the ramp time (which determines how quickly the new touch data goes back to the existing automation) in Logic's automation preferences!
