Make choir pads fade like piano w/sustain [SOLVED]

How would you make string, choir, and synth sounds hold then fade like a piano when pressing the sustain pedal of a midi keyboard? If possible? I'm currently messing around with different sounds in the environment and combining piano with strings, and would prefer if the strings faded with the sound of the piano.

From which instrument do the strings come? EXS24? If so, set the sustain parameter of ENV 2 to zero and make the decay parameter as long or short as you need it.

Try this: Load up Grand Piano+Strings from the "01 Acoustic Pianos" folder.

Now, on the front panel of EXS, in Env 2, turn Sustain off (pull the "S" slider down to the bottom) and set Decay ("D") to something around 2411. Does that get you close?

EDIT: Ah, Erik got there first. And since he's giving the same advice, it must be true!

I was just combining a string sound with a piano sound in the environment.

BTW, this sounds complicated. If you are wanting to combine a piano instrument and a string instrument (if the Piano+Strings EXS doesn't work out), you have two simple options for creating this:

1) Shift-select the two tracks in the Arrange so that their output will play and record simultaneously.

2) Create a Group in the Group Settings window that includes these two tracks, check the record box and then assign both tracks to this group.
