Install 3rd party plugin

Recommended Posts

Hi. Is it possible to install plugin from within Logic without using installer? The installer is 32 bit, but my computer has OS Mountain Lion (64 bit). The plugin is Rock Solid from Toontrack.

Thanks for any assistance :)

Typically the installers just have a bill of materials inside and the installer just points everything to the correct place. If you keep on right-clicking and saying "Show Package Contents", you may eventually drill down to where the contents are. I personally don't know where they go, but if you were able to figure that out, the .component should just be available somewhere in there. That is not a guarantee, just based on my own experiences.

Hi and thank you both for the replies. I have tried the installer many times, but it just won´t start (nothing happens). I have been browsing the internet and it seems that because the installer is 32 bit, it won´t work with Mountain Lion (64 bit). Regarding "Show Package Contents", I did try that but no success :(

Is it possible to install this plugin from within Logic/EZDrummer ?

I managed to install the expansion from within Logic/EzDrummer by opening the MIDI part on the left side in EzDrummer view, looking at how the drum parts were organized and then copied the files from Rock Solid into the right folders (probably like Strikingtwice was talking about). Anyway, thanks for the help :)
