n0mad
Hi guys, I'm a LP noob, so I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question. I have a video file with AAC 5.1 audio. When I import it, the audio comes as one track. I want to be able to have each channel have its own track. How do I do that? I tried bouncing the track, but it only produces a L and R file even though I'm selecting PCM surround bounce. Is it because I'm not connected to a surround output right now? Thank you so much. David Nahmani
Is it because I'm not connected to a surround output right now? Yes. If you don't have an audio interface with at least 6 outputs, you can download SoundFlower and select the SoundFlower (64ch) driver in Logic's output device menu (Logic Pro > Preferences > Audio, Devices, Core Audio). This will enable you to bounce split surround files (6 individual mono files for a 5.1 surround file).

d-mas
Hi David, this solution makes sense to me but Soundflower is no longer available for MacOS Big Sur (tried install but now incompatible - do you have any other suggestions?.. Thanks!
David Nahmani
I now use LoopBack, from the same people who brought us SoundFlower: https://rogueamoeba.com/loopback/
