Aphishal
Hey, i tried making two sampler instruments in the exs24 after i mapped them out and saved them and tried loading them on a new exs24 instrument and it wont allow it to open up. Im not sure whats wrong with it seeing as it still lets me use saved instruments i made on it in the past.
David Nahmani
it wont allow it to open up. What happens instead exactly? Do you get an alert?
Aphishal
No. when i try loading the kit i made from my Finder its just not even clickable. it saved as an exs file so maybe thats it?
David Nahmani
Don't try to load it from your Finder. In Logic, insert the EXS24 in the instrument slot of a software instrument channel strip and choose the instrument from the Library.
Aphishal
Hey sorry for the long reply, but that didn't quite work. Whats happening is when i drag an audio file sample the a sliced into the exs24 it allows me to use it and record with it. After i save and close the project the next time time i open it a pop up tells me the exs24 instrument i made cant be found. When i open a new exs24 instrument up the instrument i created is unable to be used.
David Nahmani
when i drag an audio file sample the a sliced into the exs24 it allows me to use it and record with it. When you close the EXS24 instrument editor, you should be prompted to save the instrument. Did you save it?
Aphishal
Yes i saved it both in the exs24 editor and the instrument itself and it still won't save the instrument

Struan
don't know if this will help at all man, but the EXS24 was not loading patches from sample packs, for no real reason. said it couldnt find the audio files even though i had loaded them from their exact location. I fixed it by dropping the sampler patch into the "sampler instruments" folder. finder>audio music apps> sampler instruments. now it can find all the files. sorry if this doesn't help thought id try anyway, very frustrating these things... David Nahmani
Yes i saved it both in the exs24 editor and the instrument itself and it still won't save the instrument I'm not sure what you mean by that? What happens when you save the instrument itself in the instrument editor: do you get an alert saying it's not saved? You could check in the finder to see whether the instrument is saved or not: Option-click the Go menu and choose Go > Library then navigate to Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments/ (path may be slightly different in Logic 8) and see if you can find your instrument there? If not, check the save location when choosing Instrument > Save As from the Instrument editor?
Aphishal
Yesssss, both you guys were right. Turns out I was saving all my instruments in a different folder not the sampler instruments one. Thanks so much. Hahahaha what a weight off my shoulders
