APSON
I mixed this on headphones and built-in iMac speakers. Would love to know your thoughts, good or bad. [soundcloud]https://soundcloud.com/evilsthatnevercame/dropout-wife[/soundcloud]
David Nahmani
Not in the studio so I'm listening on an iMac's speakers right now, and the beginning sounds very good here. However the guitars coming in at 1.00 are way too loud and that makes that section of the mix a bit harsh IMO. That also steals the attention from the vocals. Are you a guitar player by any chance? It sounds like a guitar player's mix. But when there are no distorted guitars, the mix sounds great. PS: I like the song, too!
APSON
Haha David I AM a guitar player. Embarrassed. I will fix this.
David Nahmani
Nothing to be embarrassed about, it's very typical! Please post again after you've corrected it?
APSON
I updated the soundcloud file. As usual, taming those guitars revealed stuff I don't like about the drums which I then had to fix That being said, I *thought* I liked the first mix but like this one *way* more. THANKS DAVID. Probably still more room for improvement, too.
