Peter Siedlaczek Complete Orchestral Collection

Recommended Posts

That's what I thought too. But then again, those demo's are created by professionals. So I don't have my hopes too high of attaining the same level, but I guess that holds true for any library. I bought a Celtic EXS24 library once, because the demo sounded great, only to find out how hard it was to even re-create the demo track for learning purposes.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Who knows how many hours of tweaking went into making those parts breath? Of course, any of this stuff - EWQL, LASS or the Kirk Hunter packages, etc - requires at least some elbow grease to get it to be truly expressive. The question is, can you live with the limitations and still make it work? I have the Kirk Hunter solo strings which sound gorgeous but they have no samples that don't have vibrato on them! Which is a shame but they are still quite useable.

With the Siedlaczek Complete Orchestral, the thing I wonder about is if they have put in some good scripting, legato performances etc to make it all a bit easier? I'm sure the dev would be willing to share some info on that score.

I think one of the reasons for buying such a package is that the price is decent and it is relatively "complete" in terms of the orchestral palette that you get. And the demos certainly show that great results can be had from this package.

Another thing - those demos are worth studying! 8)

From what I've been reading is that is repackaged and updated for Kontakt 5 Player, including the scripting. Is your Kirk Hunter library for EXS24 or Kontakt. I've also been looking to Kirk Hunter stuff, specifically the EXS24 version just so I could stay within the realm of of Logic. But I've also been advised not to get attached to any specific sampler...

EXS is great because it's easy on the CPU and it's relatively simple to operate, since so many of it's controls are right on the front panel. OTOH, Kontakt is a many faceted beast and pretty much the creme de la creme of samplers, especially with it's scripting (although the UVI engine has a good rap too.)
