ugh. horrible day, had an insane mac crash. am spending the day restoring things, finding things.

getting a lot fixed with my logic setup, but...

i have a dozen custom ultrabeat kits. the kits are in the right place in my library, and they show up in ultrabeat. but ALL of the sounds are 'missing'. those sounds are in the same place as before. is there a way i can reconnect all the kits, without having to find one sound at a time?? that's about 25 sounds times 12 kits...

help....

OK, here's the best I can do for you right now. Move or Copy (up to you) the samples (and their folders, of course) to:

Macintosh HD/Users/your username/Library/Application Support/Logic/Ultrabeat Samples/ (< create this folder if you don't have it)

I did this for my single custom Ultrabeat Kit (a kit I created specifically for a project) that was giving me the same problem (asking to locate samples). After Copying the samples to the location mentioned above it loaded the samples just fine.

Question...did you ever save this custom kits of yours (the samples) to the project folder (Copy Ultrabeat samples to project folder option in the Save window)? That's what I did and got this behavior when trying to load my custom kit in another project....loading from the original project works as expected.

So it seems like if you save create a custom kit's samples to a project's folder, the pst file will only find the samples when loading the kit from that project...or when the samples are in one of the Application Support/Logic locations.

thanks, i'd tried that (actually, an alias in that location), but needed to point to a single sample, could not point to the folder.

i just repointed over 250 sounds...a humbling experience. i DID save each kit, and all seems well). so, at last: 8)

Cool, I didn't even think about an alias...I tried it (putting an alias of the original samples' folder in Macintosh HD/Users/your username/Library/Application Support/Logic/Ultrabeat Samples/) but it didn't work...

However, I then did a symbolic link of the original samples' folder and now it works beautifully! Better than moving or copying the samples!
