pstrawser
Hi folks, I've scoured the forums and found lots of posts on this subject, but my situation lies just outside of the solutions presented. I have an M-Audio Axiom 61 (1st gen I believe). It does work fine as a generic MIDI controller inside of LP9. I've installed the DirectLink 1.0.6, as well as the Axiom Logic Instrument Maps 1.0.0-4 from M-Audio. They appear to install fine. When I go into Logic to setup the DirectLink (Preferences/Control Surfaces/Setup), and Install the Axiom 61 from the drop down menu, that works as well. Logic sees and installs the Axiom. However, under the Output and Input Ports, I do not have the option to select DirectLink In and Out, respectively, as has been indicated on the forums and on Avid's support site (see http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/How_To/en416623). See attachment for what the screen shows. I've experienced difficulty in locating the Axiom.bundle file. It was not in the HD/Library/Application Support/MIDI Device Plug-Ins folder. I did locate in the Applications file for LP9 when I selected Show Package Contents. Here, it was located in Contents/MIDI Device Plug-In. I proceeded to copy and paste it in the into the other HD/Library...... directory. That didn't work either. I also tried the directions described here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=48189&p=250808&hilit=Axiom.bundle#p250808 And, to prove I'm not crazy, I've been trying this on two computers: and iMac 20", and a MacBook Pro 15" (with roughly identical specs software/hardware wise....see below). It's not working on EITHER MACHINE. So, that said, I'm stumped. The big difference with my issue is that, though I've located the Axiom.bundle file, and appear to have placed in the correct directory (or so I believe), I still do not have the DirectLink I/O option in the Control Surface setup, and thus, no automated mapping for the Axiom. Thoughts? Anyone? I'm going crazy! Running Logic Pro 9.1.8. Mac OSX 10.6.8, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM. Thanks in advance!
darkslide29
Did you end up finding a solution? I have been searching the net for the same thing (getting directlink to work on an Axiom 61 1st gen) and have not had any luck. Seems to me that we need to have the 2nd gen Axiom 61 to get directlink to work properly. The installer page for directlink for logic 1.0.6 only shows the 2nd gen axiom 61, and does not officially support the 1st gen we have. So I am hoping you found a solution - I haven't run into one yet.
