How to exclude certain tracks from global tempo changes?

Hi. I figured out how to do global tempo changes from watching a YouTube tutorial. Using Options-Tempo-Tempo List, I succeeded in alternating between 135 and 155 tempos throughout my file until the very end. At the last tempo marker when I switch it back to 135 for the final chorus, it screws up that section.

To be exact, what happens is this: Starting at the 135 tempo marker, the audio tracks behave correctly, but the midi tracks stay at the previous 155 tempo. Then at a certain point all the tracks go in sync at 135, but at the same time the audio tracks act weird and a piece is cut out. Then for the remainder of the song all the tracks are in sync at 135.

I think this is happening because the chorus audio tracks throughout the file are files that I bounced out of a previous file and imported into this file. So, being imported files, they don't obey tempo change orders (and I want them to stay at 135 throughout anyway). They were unaffected by the global tempo change orders until the very end. I think the problem at the end of the file may go away if I exclude those imported tracks from global tempo change orders. Is that possible to do in Logic 7.2.3? If so, how can it be done? Here's what I'm using:

Desktop Mac (I think it's Mac Pro.)

Mac OS X Version 10.6.8

2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon

8 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

Thanks very much for your help.

PeekyBlue, please put your studio set up in your signature. See Forum rules - please READ THIS before posting, item #5. That way it's done once and it helps us help you better! :)

One way to exclude both Audio and Midi from tempo changes is to SMPTE lock them. However, be aware that doing this will lock them to an absolute time position which may well be out from your arrangement, after making tempo changes.

Thanks for your quick reply. Much appreciated. :-) I did read the forum rules before posting and put my studio setup at the bottom of my message; I thought that was more or less the same as a signature, as I don't know how to set up an automatic signature here.

Now that I think about it more, I believe it wouldn't work to exclude the tracks from the global tempo changes, so I'm not really sure how to fix the glitch at the end, other than redoing the vocal tracks in question, which I didn't want to do because they're exactly the way I want them.

There's a link in the forum rules page (rule #5) that takes you right to where you can edit your signature.

Doing an SMPTE lock means just clicking the lock icon on the left side of the track, right? I've now tried that, and it did not really prevent the track from being affected by the tempo change. The vocals sounded fine, but when I locked the track and then added the final tempo change marker, it still created a glitch that cuts out a piece of the track.
