Jonik
Hi Everyone, I was wondering if I could have some help with a power plug. I recently got a synth which uses the following power plug. I have been using an EU to UK converter like the ones you'd take on holiday but its a bit wobbly and I thought I might as well buy a proper plug for it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/Jonik/IMG_0829_zps669b3b42.jpg I would have just found a 12v power plug (the hard drive ones I use are 12v 1.5A) but the pic above doesn't say what amp it is and says AC/AC. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. A link to an Amazon with what I should buy would be amazing! Thanks very much, Jonik
Eriksimon
It does say what amp it is: 0.83 A. Or 830 milliA. So 1.5 A is (way) too strong for it. And AC/AC is the usual format (AC input (220 V), AC output(12V)). So the only difference between the UK an EU version are the prongs. Why not just buy a higher grade socket adaptor - a non-wobbly one? http://www.iec.ch/worldplugs/
Jonik
Ah ok. I've not noticed the amps going that small before. Looks like a converter is the only option then as I can't find anything that is specifically 12v 830mA. I take it something sturdier like this would be fine then? As it also holds the plastic around the prongs (unlike my current one) it should be a lot more stable. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Battery-Charger-Adaptor-adapter-recepticle/dp/B004WXCJZ0/ref=sr_1_14?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1373972371&sr=1-14&keywords=eu+uk+converter Thanks! Eriksimon
Yeah, that looks fine. Or you could snip off the C-plug and fit a UK plug yourself.
