Eric Cardenas
Do you mean that you can't open the editor? Works perfectly fine here.
Eriksimon
Well, you're not alone (unless "4real" is also you) https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5177322?tstart=
zgmg
Thanks for the replies. The attached is what I see. Maybe I should reinstall? I'm trying to access what you see on page 189-190+ http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/logic_pro_x_instruments.pdf
Eric Cardenas
Have you tried trashing the logic10 preferences?
zgmg
Have you tried trashing the logic10 preferences? Great idea. For reference, is this something I do in both the user and computer libraries? I've only ever done it with the user library.
zgmg
Oh... I only see it in the disk drive one.
Eric Cardenas
That's not it. Head into you user Library/Preferences. I'm not in front of Logic right now but it should be something like: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic10.plist ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic10.plist.lockfile
zgmg
Thanks EricBradley! I found https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2190367?start=0&tstart=0 There were three files, I just trashed them so I can't remember what they were, but I'm gonna try now. zgmg
Still missing The only thing that comes to mind is I completely rebuilt the OS when I installed LPX - do you think that has something to do with it? This is really frustrating - it's basically the only thing I need from Logic...

I figured it'd be better than cluttering my OS.

Eric Cardenas
You are in the wrong Library my friend. Look inside the User library. If you can't see it try launch the terminal and type: chflags nohidden ~/Library/
Eriksimon
Wrong folder! They're in Macintosh HD>Users>Zaydek>Library>Preferences However, that library folder is hidden by default since OS X 7 (Lion). You can get there via the Finders' Go menu: roll it down and press the Alt key, the (User) Library will appear as an option. The Terminal thingy Eric mentions is imho a better solution. Eriksimon
Did you quit Logic, then delete the file(s), then restarted Logic? If you kept it running, nothing will change.
Eric Cardenas
Try reinstalling LPX if that doesn't work, but only after you tried Erik's suggestion first.
zgmg
I did it again, exactly as prescribed - nothing's working. Seems like it's time for a fresh install. Thank you for your patience.

Can anybody confirm this? Thank you. I seem to remember reading in another thread somewhere that the fix for this was to use "Show Advanced Tools" (somewhere in the Preferences) to enable the appropriate option(s).. (If I recall correctly, I think supposedly they would all have been enabled if the Logic X installer saw an older copy of Logic already installed, but would all be off if it saw only GB..) Cheers, Joe

manemelo
To activate the edit button in the EXS24 click on logic preference then click on advance tools then make sure that the advance editing is checked. I recommend checking all the boxes.
