Daggilarr
I can't seem to find out how to just get it to load a new software instrument track thats empty by default.
David Nahmani
Couple of solutions: 1) Quick one: Deselect "Open Library" in the New Tracks dialog. 2) More permanent one: Make sure you quit Logic, go to Library/Applications support/Logic/Channel strip settings/Instrument/01 Logic Instruments/ and rename the EVP88 Electric Piano.cst to some other name of your choice. Daggilarr
OK thanks thats great. I assume you keep the .cst bit?
David Nahmani
Correct: you keep the .cst extension to the name, just change the name to the left of the ".cst" part. For example call it Factory-defaut.cst.
Eric Cardenas
New quick tip in Logic Pro X. In the Library Control-click on a patch and select Define as default to get a new default patch.

Eric Cardenas
Very useful to be able to choose your default starting patch. You can always make your own default patch so that it suits your needs.
David Nahmani
Of course in LP9 it was just a matter of renaming your custom default patch EVP88 Electric Piano.cst - but your LPX tip is much more elegant.
