Record-enable single track only.... [SOLVED]

this is embarrassing, but...i need to ask this. i've been ignoring it for years...

when i select a track to record to, and then go to another track, the original often is still in record-enable mode.how do i make it so that ONLY one track (the one i currently select) is the ONLY record-enabled track? i constantly go back, uncheck the record button on the previous-selected track, then go back to the new track.

am so used to this, i've never asked how to fix it. am sure i'm missing something obvious...

if i select a software instrument track, and record a part...when i switch to ANOTHER software instrument track and enable record... the original track is generally still in record. so i have to go back, disable that, THEN go to the new track to record...

i've been doing this since L9...i KEEP meaning to resolve the issue...

Hmm don't get that behavior here.... do you "switch to another software instrument track" by clicking its R button or, say, its track icon?

i seem to have gotten in the habit of clicking on the R button, so will get used to selecting the track only...that does it.

thanx!
