ugokcen
I've been playing around with the new drum kits, and so far I have say I love that crisp sound Definitely a solid alternative to addictive drums! However I couldn't figure out how to reduce the room sound on individual elements. I usually prefer a drier kick, and a roomier snare for example, but there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust what feeds into those room mics. Does anybody know? Thanks, Umut
fisherking
what comes to mind...seperate outs. then you can gate the kick a bit, add reverb to the snare...that sort of thing. there ARE options in the smart controls too...
Markisflippinsweet
What's the use in getting the multi-out version, other than using 9.1GB?
ugokcen
With the multi-out I can at least control how much of the room sound is blended in to the whole kit. It would better however to have control over individual kit pieces as in addictive drums or steven slate.

I never used multi-out stuff because you can't freeze it. Is it freezable, now?
ugokcen
That's right, you have two channels in the mixer, one for stereo mics and one for mono. You can make your kit really dry or wet sounding depending on the song. The non-multi version of the plug has quite a bit of the room already in there by the way. I don't know about the freeze, I haven't used it in ages. Maybe someone can answer?
Myron
You can edit the sound of the individual sound without using the multi out feature. Click on the drum and the options come on the right side of the screen. You can dampen the drums and remove the bleed to overhead an room. For more control you will have to use the multi-out feature. I thought I read that on one of Apples pages... and agree with the more control comment... Superior also has controls for doing it on individual kit pieces, like the others mentioned 'LPX' is looking so attractive
ugokcen
Alright, found those controls, better than nothing I suppose Some comments: Dampen control also affects the tonality, kind of like a low pass filter. I would have preferred a simple envelope to adjust the decay. Sometimes you find the snare sound that cuts through just right, but realize that it takes too much space in the context of a song especially if it is a fast song. Dampen control would not be of much help in that situation. The switches for the overhead and room mics are great, but why the hell make it a on or off switch? Can't we have something in the middle? On another note, I also noticed that when you add all the separate drum channels into the mixer you don't get anything labeled 'overheads'. The main outputs seem to become the overheads I thinks. Can anybody confirm? Umut
Markisflippinsweet
I don't know if I want that 9.1GB download, still. If I don't use multiouts, what am I getting from it? To confirm, it's not freezable.

I've made a multi-out with the Logic Pro X Drum Kit plugin. I'm in the mixer and can't see how anything is processed through a room/reverb. Still there is a lot of room applied to my drums, and the Dampen option in the plugin UI only dampens the room sound, though not entirely, and definitely does other stuff too. Didn't know I had to choose the kits with + at the end of the names ☺️
