Eric Cardenas
Option-shift does not longer work when trying to assign the same velocity value or length to selected notes in the Piano Roll. Seems to have something to do with how Shift is treated as it behaves differently. If you hold down Shift before clicking on a note it deselects it even in conjunction with the Option key. Eric Cardenas
The shift key works to set equal lengths. Shift - option will now work to set the length to the same position. But same velocity seems to be broken.
Jordi Torres
The behavior I'm getting here with Shift-Option for velocity is that I need to drag all the way up or down to bring all selected to the lowest or highest velocity. Once there, you can have the same velocity for all. Are you getting this too? This sucks! What a bugfest we're having!...let's hope they fix this soon (if it really is a bug for them too). J. Eric Cardenas
Yes. It's broken it's not honouring the Shift key. If you try to click on one of the selected notes while pressing down Option-Shift you see that the note is being deselected.

CCTMusic
Hi On LPX 10.0.1, the behaviour is fubar'd: Shift makes all notes the same length (instead of end at the same point) Option+Shift Click Drag simply deselects the note you click on Click hold, Option Shift makes them all end at the same point Hmmm CCT
David Nahmani
Another workaround: Option-drag the velocity all the way up (or down) to force all the velocities to 127 (or 1) then drag back down (or up) to set the notes to the desired velocity value. HugoJacquet
Hello, What strikes me is that you can apparently not change these key commands, or am I wrong? I searched in vain for "Velocity" in the key commands file...Well something comes up, but not the key commands for the tools menu.... Hugo
Eric Cardenas
What strikes me is that you can apparently not change these key commands, or am I wrong? It has always been like that. Combos that include your mouse/trackpad are hardwired.

anp27
This is my workaround for Option + Shift to set midi notes to an equal length. The Option key is no longer needed. 1. Select all the notes. 2. With all the notes selected, select the END of note that you want all the other note's lengths to be at. The cursor will turn into the 'drag' cursor. 3. With this note selected, press Shift and hold for 2 seconds. (its 2 seconds for me anyway) 4. As you hold down the Shift key, you will notice that the notes will snap and become the same length. ski
The worst part about all this is that you can no longer change the length by single ticks. Try it. You'll see what I mean.
lagerfeldt
This is a biggie. They should change all this behavior back to exactly how it was in Logic Pro 9. Not being able to change single tick precision, etc. HUGE oversight.
willrice
Possible workarounds for single tick edits: • Make your fine length edits in the Event List • Horizontal zoom in all the way (using Alt-Shift-ScrollDown) and then use the Pointer Tool

Ghostatic
Not being able to change single tick precision, etc. HUGE oversight. +1. Apple is aware of it. Option + Shift has no functionality in the Event List. Just the Option key brings up a little "S" next to the cursor which lets you click on a single note to play it within the Event List. It was so easy to see all the numerical velocity and length values and be able to quickly drag them all into place in the Event List. Is Apple aware of this? Eric Cardenas
It works but it is very fiddly. Click - hold followed by Option - Shift and lastly start dragging up or down.
Plowman
Thanks Eric. I had given up option + shift in the Event List. When I do that on velocity for notes, the lower velocity resets immediately to one. Other notes selected drop relative to that. Then I can adjust all notes from one upwards for equal velocity. None of that happens in Piano Roll. I hope Logic programmers are aware that it's still a little off in Event List.
