Logic 9 - Saving layered tracks [SOLVED]

Logic X track stacks are really nice and im so glad they have added this feature but what is the easiest way to do something similar in Logic 9.

Especially for sound design and layering sounds with different tracks is there a way i can save this newly created layer (of a number of tracks?) Or do i simply need to bounce the new sound as an audio file? because that would eliminate the possibility of automating each individual sound on each layered track

I have not bought Logic X just yet.

The way I was doing it in Logic 9 was to save a group of tracks and their channel strip as a project in a dedicated folder, giving that project the name of the sound. Then when I needed the sound I'd browse that dedicated folder and use the File Browser to import all necessary tracks and channel strips.

Better than nothing thanks :) This will do until i make the purchase.

Im only getting around to doing this now, how exactly do i ''save a group of tracks and their channel strip as a project in a dedicated folder,''

Do you basically just mean to save the project after putting all the tracks for the particular sound in a folder,

And when i use the browser in a different project i will be able to locate the channel strip settings associated with the saved project this way? and just drag and drop them on my current project?

You just open an empty project and set up all necessary channel strips for a sound. Then save that project. You can save it wherever you want but I've created a specific folder (in the Finder) where I save those "mini-template" projects so that I always know where to look when I need to import multiple channel strips.

Then when you need them in your current project, go to the File Browser, navigate to your specific folder in the Finder to locate the mini-template project, double-click it and the File browser will let you select all the tracks (and their channel strips) you want to import in the current project. Then click "Add" at the bottom right of the file browser.

There's another way, if I may be so bold. If you are working on a project and come up with a grouping of channel strips that you want to reuse in future sessions, you can save the session as a new project with a new project folder and delete everything that is not part of this mini-template.
