mysticfm
There seems to be some sort of simulated velocity sensitivity with the Logic Remote keyboard, but it is uncontrollable, random, and far too frenetic, with most of the notes being far too low in velocity and the rest being far too loud, and none in between. As such, I'd like to know if there is any way to either limit or completely turn off this "velocity sensitivity" of the keyboard in the Logic Remote. I have been looking and can't find any way to adjust it, nor even any mention of said velocity in the help for the Logic Remote. Anyone know otherwise? Edit: I just figured out that this can be done in the computer with the MIDI Velocity Processor. So that's one way ... but I'd still like to know if there are settings in the Remote app that I'm missing.
Eric Cardenas
It's not simulated. It uses the accelerometer in the iPad to determine the velocity. Try and put the iPad on a hard surface.
mysticfm
It actually was on a hard surface at the time. Maybe my accelerometer is screwy, because the velocity data bore no resemblance to how hard I was hitting the thing. However, I seem to recall that the same velocity detection worked much better for me in GarageBand, on this same device. I should compare the two … it might be illuminating. 77James
Hi All, My first post and I had a quick question. Sorry I haven't created a profile and equipment list yet. I am really enjoying Logic Remote and I was using the key commands and wanted to see how to put a command on a blank space. I figured out how to do it but decided I don't want that command where I put it. When it was blank, I just tapped it and it gave me choices of commands and I picked one but of course now when I tap it it just executes the command. Does anyone know how to edit (remove) a key command. Thanks,
77James
Hi, I'm sorry, I jumped the gun, unless of course it helps someome. I should have looked into it more before I posted the question but I touched the question mark while in Keypad mode and it said to touch the botton with 2 fingers to edit and sure enough, the same options came up that did when I touched the blank one and I was able to change the command. It seems to be pretty idiot proof and thats a good thing in my case. I posted something like this last night as soon as I found out but for some reason it wasn't posted. I got a message about a double post. If they both show up, apologize. I've heard people in other forums say that when they use smartphone or other devices it posts twice. I'm on an ipad and that could be what happened.
