Flashamer
Hi! I have a Roland TD-6V electronic drum kit that i want to connect to logic pro through MIDI. Does anyone know how to do that? Ive only plugged in the drum kit with a midi cable into the Mac. Ive created a software instrument track as well and hit record. It works when i plug in my midi keyboard, but there is no sound from the drum kit. The drum kit module is turned on. what am i missing here? Do i need some kind of software installed for the mac to detect the drum kit?
beej
The Roland is a MIDI controller just the same as your keyboard, it just sends MIDI notes. It will trigger whatever software or MIDI instrument is on the track you are playing/recording to.

beej
Do you see MIDI activity in the transport window when you hit the pads? What MIDI channel are you transmitting on? Your MIDI OUT from the drums is connected to the MIDI In on your MIDI interface, yes?
