airforceguitar
Are there any new sampled (EXS) instruments included with Logic Pro X that were'nt part of the Logic Studio package? Or is it the same EXS instruments with new channel strip/track stack settings? It would be nice to have a new acoustic piano, more orchestral samples etc.
beej
Yes, all of the EXS stuff that come with LPX, including the 15GB+ of drum kits, the piano, the orchestral stuff are new...
airforceguitar
Do you mean (besides the drumkit designer samples), that there are new samples? I believe that is what you meant, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't just the Logic Studio samples (Jam Packs etc.).
beej
I meant exactly what I said.
airforceguitar
Many thanks beej! I'll hold off on a few sample libraries until I explore what's new in LPX! -Airforceguitar
DanRad
Has anyone heard any of the orchestral or other stuff to know if it's any good?
KC
Has anyone heard any of the orchestral or other stuff to know if it's any good? They're not great, but they are not too bad either. I think they are good for layering with other libraries to beef up the sound and add some different texture. I think the ww's are better than the strings and brass. The percussion is pretty good also. cheers - kc
strikingtwice
Certainly what KC said. I don't think it makes sense for Apple to do an absurd and detailed orechestral library when there are so many out on the market now, and I dont' believe they'd bring a ton new to the table. They are definitely nice for layering, even with the old strings and my Kontakt strings they sound decent.
strikingtwice
Wait, are these actually new? I tried opening in finder but the naming convention and the exs24 mapping of the instruments are both so different it was tough to tell.
