How do I delete Apple factory plugin?

It's located in /System/Library/Components. I've removed it without any noticeable consequences, but I'd err on the safe side and make a backup of the file first. Right-click > Compress "AUSpeechSynthesis.component" and move the .zip file from the Desktop to a safe place.

I think it will cripple the text to speech capabilities of your OS. Also, it is not guaranteed that removing it will solve your hang problem - the displayed text is not necessarily the cause. It's just that that text is also stuck. So please let us know if ditching that plugin did it. :)

You were right Erik,

It really made no impact. I deleted the system/library / component and the AU manager still finds the Speech aSynthesis plugin and flags it as in compatible.

Any other suggestions?

:P
