Logic Update Causing problems

I am new to this forum and looking for help.

I wanted to update my Logic 9.0.0 to 9.1.1. This worked without any problem. So I tried to update to 9.1.8. This became a problem. The prompt asked for the serial number. I purchased my computer with Logic 9 installed, thus I do not have serial number. So I contacted Apple for help. They told me to update my OS to10.8.6 to download logic X,which i was willing to purchase. But I could not update to Mountain Lion because I have an older model Mac Pro tower. So, no Mountain Lion means no Logic X, which means I cannot open Logic to get to 4yrs of work.

I hope I explained it correctly.

Furthermore, I have other serial numbers because I have Logic 9.2.0 on two other computers. Neither worked.

So, I'm looking for a functioning serial number.

I hope I explained it correctly. Please help. Thanks. Eric
