Copying regions and instruments to another project?

I'm trying to copy some regions along with their audio instruments from one project to antoher and i've tried copying and pasting, and it gives me an optino of copying the instruments, but when i click copy absolutely nothing happens to the project i'm trying to copy the regions to. is there a (better) way to try and do this?

I copy the channel strip setting from the original project, and drag and drop the Regions to the new project, and paste the CSS.
