I have an MPD 18 and my cousin and I were able to synch it correctly with logic once before.

It is now a year later and I do not know what I am doing wrong.

I can see on the bottom of the screen that the program reads the input of the buttons being pressed ,but I get no sound

I re-mapped the buttons in the editor, but I HAVE NO IDEA HW TO GET THIS TO WORK!!!

please help me out!??!

I will be forever in your debt!!

thanx y'all

yes.

I opened a new software track and chose sub bass drum kit. I tried a few differet drum kits.

No sound.

Any ideas as to what I might try to fix this?

Is there any other program I can plug into to try a quick test?

thank you for the response :D

nothing.... when I double click on the very bottom of the screen where in says "No In, No Out"

the on out changes when I press the mpd buttons, but no out never changes unless I double click... then it looks like it is running through a check list...

there is a crossed out note when it does this...

anything?

thank you

I have an idea of what this could be.... however we need more information to take this further: Click this link to your signature and add your system information:

• Logic version and sub-version (e.g. Logic 10.0.3)

• OS X version and sub-version (e.g. OS 10.8.5)

• Computer (e.g. MacBook, Mac Pro, iMac)

• Processor (e.g. 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo)

• Memory (e.g. 2GB)

• Audio interface manufacturer and model (e.g. Presonus AudioBox USB)

• MIDI Controller manufacturer and model (e.g. M-Audio Axiom Pro 49)

(most of that information can be found by choosing Logic Pro X > About Logic Pro X, and  > About This Mac)

The sound should come out of your Mac speakers if you have set your audio preferences accordingly.

The In / Out readouts you are referring to, are MIDI IN OUT monitors informing about the MIDI data traffic coming to or getting out of Logic. When you double-click on the Out, Logic sends MIDI note-offs and resets to all MIDI ouputs to solve eventual hung notes or controller eventual misbehaviours.

In your mixer window, when you play the MPD18 pads on the ES2 instantiated track, do you see any activity in the level meter of the associated channel?

what should I see in that screen cap?

A screen capture is like a photo that you take of what is displayed on your computer screen.

Complying to same could make it easier and faster to troubleshoot your issue.

Bold underlined text, like the one above, is meant as a (click-able) web link to further explanation or useful reference...

I don;t know what you mean by note and metronme and custom

but where it says "no in" in logic... when I press pad 1 it says: "crossed-out = 3 49"

Ah that would be because you're in Logic 9. ;)

Ok it shouldn't be a "crossed-out" icon. You should see a note icon there. You need to program your MPD18 so it sends "Note on" events when you press a pad.
