ssprod
I've been exploring ways to create the popular "vocal riser effect", and found a couple YouTube tutorials that were demonstrated with FL and Ableton. The chopping / looping part seems to be fairly straightforward, but the actual rising (pitch shifting) is shown in different ways. The Ableton demo uses a function called "transpose envelope", and the FL demo uses a simple "pitch transpose" plugin. I like the sound of the Ableton demo, as it seems to preserve the actual length of the sample, and just changes pitch. Can you guys share your methods on achieving this in Logic? Out.Line
I would also like to know how to do this and similar effects in Logic. I've tried to do some bass slides through pitch bending on the piano roll and it just doesn't sound convincing, I find it much easier to do this type of techniques on Ableton, but maybe I just don't know how to do them convincingly on Logic. Some enlightenment would be great!
Eriksimon
Automate the AUPitch plugin is what I would do. In spite of you saying it is a "popular" effect, I cannot say I'm familiar with it, but I assume it is a vocal being pitched up and/or being sped up? You could also use speed fades for that (down or up). Or even a combination of those two techniques. http://help.apple.com/logicpro/mac/10/#lgcpf7c0cd53 (last subject)
