Delay squeaks when bouncing in logic X

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

I have a problem, when I bounce something with delay it sounds like squeak but you have to turn the volumen up a lot to perceive it, with normal volumen it sounds good. Inside of logic sounds perfect but the problem comes when bouncing. I have upload a note with delay so you can check out how it sounds. I have tried to bounce with dither on but does not work.

Many thanks to all for your help

Your link contained way too many advertisements, and I still wasn't sure where to click to download the file... and finally ended up downloading something that was not your file. I removed your link.

Instead, compress your file in the Finder, and attach the resulting .zip file to this thread.

However considering the other thread where we tried to help you troubleshoot the source of mysterious noises on your system (and couldn't hear any of them: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=101690), I would venture a guess that it's something wrong with your monitoring system.

Mate Im sure that it is not a monitoring problem because I listened in 3 different studios and it sounds the same. I have uploaded the file again so you can check how it sounds, it is just a note with delay. To perceive the squeak of the delay you have to turn the volumen up a lot because with normal volumen sounds clear.

Please help me! the problem is driving me crazy :(

The sound peaks at -17 dBFS, and it is a 16 bit file. So the resolution of the last few barely audible repeats (after normalizing your bounce I can clearly hear what you mean) may well be less than 3 bits, so that's exactly what it sounds like: two and even one bit audio. Two possible solutions: bounce to 24 bit, or, if for whatever reason you have to bounce to 16 bit, up the volume on the instrument with at least 15 dB or so, so the softest parts still have a decent resolution.

Many thanks for your response!

I have tried that but does not work. Bouncing to 24 bit works but the problem is that I can not send 24 bit track to records label. Is there any other solution for this problem?

Please guys help me!

I have tried that but does not work.

You have tried what? Setting your instruments' output 15 dB higher? What instrument is it anyway? Or is it a synth and an plugin delay? If so, how are they set? To answer the last three questions without a word you could put up a screenshot of your instrument channel strip.

Bouncing to 24 bit works but the problem is that I can not send 24 bit track to records label.

M. That sounds like Italian-American sausage. Any track will be 24 bit, going to any serious "records label" - which in reality means it'll go to a mastering engineer first, and he will ask a 24 bit bounce of your mix.

Is there any other solution for this problem?

If there is any other solution for your problem fully depends on the exact routing of that synth and the delay effect, and which parameters are set to what values.

I have tried setting the instruments output to 15 dB but does not work. Im using a massive synth with a plugin delay. The problem is also that the delay squeaks even when I apply it to an audio file. Anyways I have upload a screenshot of my channel strip. The instrument is the 31 with the bus 5.

The problem with 24 bit tracks is that beatport does not accept them and beatport is one of the biggest digital stores for electronic music.

many THANKS for your help but still can not solucionate it :(
