Bradzweb
Morning Folks As a relatively new user to Logic I'm still trying to shake of the old habits and functions I've been used to using in another DAW (Adobe Audition). Perhaps someone can help me with this seemingly obvious but troublesome problem. I've recorded a live gig on a Zoom R16 recorder, by doing this I had to leave the Zoom running throughout the gig so consequently I have all the songs on all the tracks, eight in total. When I import these tracks into Logic I want to be able to copy the songs individually and work on them independently, but i can't seem to find how to do this. In my other DAW all I had to do was to select the tracks and the length I needed, copy, and then paste to a new track. Is there an obvious way to do this hat has escaped me, or can someone recommend another method? Much appreciate any help Brad
basils
I'm sure there may be a better way, as I'm relatively new to Logic also. I did exactly what you did a while back also on a zoom. All I did to get individual tracks was set the play head between individual songs, and right click on the track "split by playhead". Then select, cut and paste the track I wanted and repeat. I think you can also use the scissor tool. (now I 'll watch for answers from the guys who really know)
Bradzweb
Thanks Basils, sounds like a plan. In the interim I tried another way. I loaded all the tracks from the zoom (1.8Gb) by dragging them into Logic. I then moved the cycle range marker (I think that's what it's called, the thing in the far right top corner) to the end of the first song, did all the editing, then bounced it to a stereo master. I then dragged it back to the end of the second song and so on etc until all the tracks had been done. This seemed to work fine, but like you, I'd be keen to hear of other methods Thanks again
