Help: Session with Spinning Beach Ball after Loading

Recommended Posts

As the title suggests I have a session that hangs with a spinning beach ball immediately after it loads. Since autosaves are no longer project files I basically have no way that I know of to load the past versions since I cant access any logic menus. Logic has saved an autosaved version of the version which did not load..which is also useless.

I have tried moving refreshing my AU cache and I just moved all of my components out the the components folder. Still the project wont launch and the last saved time machine version is from 10 days prior and is pretty much the sketch of the idea and not the full song.

There are other musicians involved and I am having a rough time here. I did the initial sketch in LPX before I knew about all of the bugs and issues. I reluctantly pressed ahead but now I am stuck. Is there anything I can do? Can I edit the .logicx package in some way? Anything?

You still can access previous versions of the project:

Control-click the project file and choose Show Package Contents. Then go inside Alternatives > 000 and look for the Project File Backups folder. Choose one of the folders there by date (one from a date prior to when the problem started). After deciding which one you want to go back to, copy the the "ProjectData" file and overwrite (using Copy/Paste) the "ProjectData" file that lives in the "000" folder. Now when you open the project it will open at that previous state.

Thanks Jordi. I did experiment a bit and moved both files into 00, but it helps to know Project Data was all I needed to move. Eventually I found a copy that worked. But it was missing about 20 tracks of edits to vocals, harmonies, etc.

I hadnt opened the session since mid November and I think everything went downhill when I enabled flex pitch. I wanted to try it vs Melodyne due to its integration but I started getting all of these IO errors. Even when I tried to disable flex pitch I was getting crashes.

I wonder if there is a way to disable a feature like flex pitch in the Logicx project file, without opening the actual session? I would love to get all of my edits back...12 hours worth of work.
