Serial Number invalid.

I recently took my iMac into the mac shop as it was starting to run real slow. The technician suggested that I go back to Snow Leopard from Mountain Lion and re-set my computer as a new computer. I dragged all my applications over but now when logic asked me to enter the serial number for the licensing which I enter correctly from the original box a licensing error comes up for logic 8 or crashes when entering logic 9 serial.

Help!

The USB superdrive is not compatible with older Macs, when I installed a second hard drive in my 2011 MBP, I bought one.

Only works on 2012 or later MBP, MBA, and iMacs 2013 MP, 2009 or later Mini.

Well, that pretty much sucks. I can't stand all this incompatibility built into the system.

Anyhow, there must be some other 3rd party optical drives out there that are compatible with the OP's machine.

I don't know what year his machine was made so, still it may work. He'll have to decide based on his own research.
