mattsici
I have a korg M50 & logic. I have 2 krk rokit 8's connected to my keyboard. I'm confused as how to connect my keyboard via USB cable. I've looked up everything but nothing works. I had it connected & it would play midi notes but I couldn't change the instrument or else all tracks would change. Also, whenever I pressed a key it would make like an error sound in logic through my computer speakers, not my rokit 8's. Then, when I opened it again it wouldn't even play sound (everything was on). I'm completely new to this & really confused. I really need help. Also I'd like to know how to simultaneously have my mpc studio working in logic as well as my M50
Atlas007
Make sure you have the latest drivers installed on your Mac for your M50. Ensuring that you also have the most recent and appropriate firmware, OS and software installed for your Korg M50 is an advisable step. Next would be to be acquainted with your gear, which involves some reading of the user manuals... Regarding the error and weird behaviour of your system, it is quite likely that you have a MIDI loop problem. Reset your various devices and try adjusting your M50 to MIDI Local Off: check p.84 of your M50 user manual for further details regarding the MIDI settings on your M50. BTW, be aware that if you intend to record sound coming from your M50 into Logic, you will need an audio interface to get the sound from your M50 audio outputs into Logic; MIDI and audio being two different things... The M50 USB port carries only MIDI. Using the MPC Akai MIDI controller requires similar prerequisites: proper software installation and knowledge acquisition from the user manual. Here is a link that could be of interest to use Logic with your MPC. You can connect your MPC to another USB port (preferably) or use a USB hub to connect both your M50 and MPC to your Mac if you don't have more than one USB port available.. mattsici
Thanks for the reply, I got the mpc working well, one problem though. I have no idea how to have it play through my monitors or if I can. I have an audio interface but I'm looking to use midi. the only problem I'm experiencing now is that when I change the sound on one of my tracks it changes all the tracks to that sound. I've tried using different chennels and can't seem to figure out how to do it. thanks so much
Atlas007
Please post your system specs as stipulated by the board rule #5. I have no idea how to have it play through my monitors or if I can. I have an audio interface but I'm looking to use midi. I think that you would benefit of David's book. Here is a suggestion to interconnect your MPC/Mac/audiocard/speakers...
