How do I import AU instruments? EWQL PLAY [SOLVED]

Hi

I've recently switched from Cubase 6 (too advanced for me) to Logic Pro X. I'm not at all an advanced user, I used cubase to play my EWQL Strings in order to show / present an idea to "real" musicians. Anyway, I can't find the EWQL PLAY engine in Logic. Where do I find it?

I've been searching around for this problem a lot, apparently I'm not the only one having this problem. But, I can't find anything of help. I watched several videos and read several instructions, maybe I'm just stupid :?:

I checked in Library > Audi > Plug-ins > Component and the play.component file is there. But, I can't find it in the Instrument library where all the other instruments are. Everybody I talk to says "nah, I should load automatically", no, it doesn't.

I've read through the help section but I can't find anything regarding Audio Units and where to find them.

I would really appreciate your help!

Regards

Pat

Hi Pat,

In Logic, you need to:

1) Choose Track > New Software Instrument Track.

2) If Logic inserts an E-Piano instrument plug-in, then click the right part of the plug-in (the two up & down arrows) to replace the plug-in.

If you get an empty channel strip, then click the Instrument slot.

Then choose the desired instrument (AU Instruments > East West > Play).

Holy damn! It worked :D Thank you so much David, I really appreciate your help!
