error when initializing core midi

i just updated from a ( just pre mavericks mac book pro 17 inch, 8 GB ram ) to a new 15 inch retina , 2.6Ghz, intel core i7, 16 GB Ram 1600 mhz DDR with a 1 TB solid state internal hard rive .

I am running Logic pro 10.0.6 ( exactly the same as on the old powerbook).

The mac store mirrored all my software and licences to my new mac ---- no problem !

Except : no more midi !!

Logic gives me, while opening , the following the message :

attention : "midi is not available"

"Error when initializing Core Midi"

the only other thing i did , and i don't know if that is related, is that i installed the newest updated version of the "diva" software synth.

that works fine , (run from an existing track, since the midi keyboard does not work )

i am not using any midi interface but Korg( mini keys) , M audio and other keyboard interfaces ( independently)straight through the USB port.

what is the problem ?

Thanks for looking into it !

Uwe
