Sudden latency in the middle of recording

Recommended Posts

I'm running Logic Pro X 10.0.5 on a Macbook Pro 13 (2012, OS X 10.9.2, Intel I7 2.9 GHz). I use 2 interfaces; a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD for monitoring, and a Line 6 POD HD500 for recording.

I'm having an issue where suddenly in the middle of tracking or even just monitoring the input for a few minutes, I suddenly get really bad latency of roughly 2 seconds. This only happens with audio tracks. When I reset the core audio, everything returns to normal for a few minutes, and then the problem comes back again.

I have my buffer size set to 64 samples, recording delay of -1300 samples, processing buffer range to small, ReWire off, and Plug-in latency is turned off. There are no drivers for the Creative Sound Blaster, and the Line 6 POD drivers are up to date.

What could be the issue?
