Waveburner 8x vs 32x ?

There is no difference in WaveBurner's output at those speeds - any resulting difference is down to media - it is not advisable to burn CD's slower than their recommended minimum write speeds - you will get more errors. I suspect the optimum write speed varies from media to media, and batch to batch. . . . and can only be determined ny experimentation.

i use to follow this very closely back in my linux days and development stages.

i would say burn 1/3 of your media top speed.

so if you media is 24x then burn at 8x.

i have been thinking of getting a realtime burner. i just don't trust and never have trusted the "X" factor of audio in a burner if it wasn't realtime.

good for data, bad for streaming type media. audio or video.

MHO.

yea I don't believe there is a quality difference, more of a reliability difference. if you burn it at a lower speed the disc tends to be more reliable... I have experimented in my own travels and found lower speed burned discs tend to not have playback issues and I can be a little more rambunctious with them when I take them out to DJ with.
