creating fades when i push play

so each time i push play in this current project, logic keeps giving me this message saying "creating fades" and it then takes about 30 seconds to process and do its thing. i've never had this happen before, but it's incredibly annoying...... each time i push play it does this. what the heck?!

this may be a stupid question, but will this mean i have to do all my fades again on each audio file? like this will delete all my fades i have on my audio files in my project?

When you draw new fades, or when you delete fade files, Logic automatically (re)creates the fade files the next time you press play.

What kind of hard drive are you recording to, and how is it formatted?

ok..... so i've deleted all the hi-hat files that i have all the fades on that it keeps creating each time i push play. this solved the problem. BUT, i have now re-done ALL the files again and it's only until the last couple that i get this issue. i have a ton of hi hat audio files in my project that i'm just copying and pasting to in the arrange window to make my hi-hat pattern. and i can copy/paste for most of the project and i don't get this issue. it's only until the last couple sections of pasting the hi-hats that i get this issue. if i delete those last few sections of hi-hats it doesn't do this. what the hell?! it's almost like there's too many files or something??? cuz it makes no sense that it works just fine until i copy and past those last couple sections of hi-hats. as soon as i delete those last few sections, it's fine again. it's so annoying! any help?

ok. so i re-built the entire project and it's still doing it. here's something really weird though...... so when the project is saved on my external drive it does this. if i move the project folder to my imac itself, i don't get this issue. what difference would that make? the project is the same either way......
