Project Manager crashing with indexing.

I have tried a few times to fully index (can't remember the exact term here at home)... my drives so I can do things such as convert all my Rex files.

It works for about an hour, and then crashes with the Beachball.

Any ideas how to get past this?

I have loads of files from years of work, so it is a pretty heavy load.

I worked this out.

It was crashing during scanning a folder, and I think some vey old custom rex files had illegal charactors.
