set up a Vocoder (the mouth)

Recommended Posts

The Mouth (Reaktor) must be loaded as a MIDI-Controlled Effect (instrument slot of a software instrument channel strip) and use the side chain (input) pop-up menu on the upper right part of the plug-in window. If you want to process live audio from a mic, you must choose the appropriate input from that menu ("input 1" or whichever you're using for the mic).

If you plan to record your performance, then you create an audio track set to "no output" (to avoid hearing dry audio and processed audio at the same time). Once you're done with the mic and you have an audio region on the track, you change the side chain input source from the mic to the actual audio track. So instead of having "Input 1" you now have "Audio 1", for example.
