nickweston
Any happy users of a great "bad" piano sound (ala ob-la-di)? I own Ivory, Vienna, etc... I'm talking a great out-of-tune upright or school piano. thanks NW
Chris
Have a look at Sampletekk's Vertikal.
nickweston
thanks for the tip- one note though, no demos on the site (at least that my meager mind can find). looks like great stuff but it's hard to pull the trigger without hearing it first. Also, they offer a downloadable version but fail to show the size of the file. best NW

the sinner
Supposedly East West Fab Four will have the Lady Madonna Sample, if it ever comes out.

MikeShapiro
I prefer the tried and true method of buying a quality piano and letting it fall into disrepair.
peeb
The O-Bla-Di piano an actual "Tack Piano". For those of you too young to know what this old bugger is talking about, it's an old trick of sticking thumb tacks into the hammers of (usually) an old upright piano. Not QUITE the same as what the years have conditioned us to think of when we think of a "Honky Tonk" piano which is usually a charmingly out of tune, crappy piano. Akoustik Piano has a really good "not too in tune" upright, and Sampletank has a great old 1920's upright, but i've NEVER found the mythical "Tack Piano" so if anyone knows of a sample instrument ANYWHERE i, like Nick, would be eternally grateful
AllyMusicGirl
WOW! I want! I want! I adore that piano sound!
cb50dc
I prefer the tried and true method of buying a quality piano and letting it fall into disrepair. A comparable strategy could apply as well to getting a really authentic "underwater piano."

carrmar
I guess the "tack" sound could be added with some dynamic manipulation. You can get a great "old piano" sound by running the piano through Waves Doubler.
