David Nahmani
How do I get the pencil tool to insert a piece of blank audio like it used to in lp9? The pencil tool does not insert a piece of blank audio in LP9, it creates an empty MIDI region on your audio track. is there a pref somewhere? No, you cannot change that behavior. it works as expected for midi but for audio it wants to import a existing audio file? Yes, they changed the behavior in LPX, which generally makes more sense since you rarely need to create a MIDI region on an audio track.
Jordi Torres
Shift-click with the pencil tool. And It's not "blank audio" by the way, it's a MIDI region. J.
Stacio
Thanks Guys, I use it as a quick way to stop audio loops with out having to scroll to the end. There might be a better way but it works great for me when I'm zoomed in and want to "block off" the loop.
David Nahmani
Yes, you can stop a loop by bringing your mouse cursor in the upper part of the waveform on a loop: your mouse cursor will turn into a loop tool, which you can click or drag horizontally to determine where the loop stops.
