krischan
Why don't I get a feedback when I am sending an aux bus to itself? I am trying to get feedback for a tape delay effect.
David Nahmani
It should feedback.. check your routing and plug-in settings.
djals
Might be a stoopid comment but why not use the Tape Delay?
krischan
I know, I just wanted to try something different and was surprised that it didn't feedback.
krischan
I still can't get it in play, have a look at my routing... (image deleted by poster)
Justin-Ch
Try a simple delay effect set to 1 repeat, like the Apple AU one, on either Bus 32 or Aux 1.
David Nahmani
Yeah, your routing is good, you need to insert a plug-in to hear the feedback. An AUpitch is a good test too.
benw
why do you need to insert a plug in david? how would that make the feedback loop occur? i dont doubt you, im just wondering?
David Nahmani
Because right now you're just adding the signal to itself, so you won't hear much except a louder signal. If you had a delay and a pitch plug-in, you can hear each repeat being pitched differently, thus making sure you hear the repeats.
benw
aah! that was very quick... thanks though!
krischan
Sorry, I tried everything...I can't get anything to feedback in logic. Is it something in the preferences, like a feedback child proof? I also tried to send a bus from a track into its compressor side chain...nothing. I've only tried it in playback.
David Nahmani
No switches whatsoever... here's an example where Bus 1 feedbacks onto itself using an Aux object. AuxFeedback.lso.zip
krischan
Thanks for the file, it still didn't feedback, but after I have changed the bus out to itself, it worked. Strange that your file didn't have the same results on my system...Thanks again!
