  1. The Firebox Control allows you to boost the input signal by 12 dB. Have you tried that? Also the Firebox Mixer allows some control over the playback and input volume. Have you adjusted that? Both the Firebox Control and Firebox Mixer are additional software apps that can be downloaded from the Presonus site. They were included in the CD that comes with the Firebox.
  2. I've done a clean install of Leopard on my PowerBook. Logic 7 is safely installed on my external HD. I have the 7.2 upgrade DVD (and my XSkey) Does Logic 7 have to reside on the PowerBook to upgrade to 7.2? Can I install 7.2, plug in my XSkey and start it up? Or do I drag all the Logic folders from the backup to the appropriate places on the clean PB and then upgrade? Any help would be appreciated.
  3. David, thanks for your help. I'm sorry for being so literal about this, but are you saying that only User created Logic Songs should be on the external drive? I thought that the conventional wisdom was that Samples and all Audio files should reside on the external. Is that not correct? If I understand you, then I should leave the "Logic" folder in: Mac HD/Library/Application Support, correct? This is the folder that contains: Channel Strip Settings com.apple.LogicTranslateAU.plist EXS Factory Samples Impulse Responses Plug-in Settings Sampler Instruments Tuning Tables Ultrabeat Samples Is this right?
  4. I have recently added an external FW 800 hard drive to my system. I dragged the "Logic" folder from the: Mac HD/Library/Appl. Support/ To the external drive, made an alias of that folder and placed the alias back in: Mac HD/Library/Appl. Support/ and removed the word "alias". Everything is working EXCEPT when I choose one of the kits in Ultrabeat a dialogue asks me: Ultrabeat:please locate... and asks to locate each individual sample, although if I Cancel, the kit loads. But next time I change kits, it asks again. I know this question has been asked countless times, but I have searched multiple Logic forums without finding a definitive answer. I understand everyone has different systems, multiple drives, etc. but can anyone tell me the best location for EXS Factory Samples, Plug-in Settings, Sampler Instruments, Ultrabeat Samples etc. for someone with one system drive and one external? All help is appreciated.
  5. Martin Sitter's book and tutorials are well worth the money. Her's a link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/Author%3DSitter%2C%20Martin/026-9929808-0376451
  6. Use the Project Manager. It consolidates all audio files, midi info, plug-in settings, audio instruments, in a folder inside the song folder.
